Ghost Ranch Chartres Labyrinth
280 Private Drive 1708, US-84, Abiquiu, NM
This 11-circuit Chartres labyrinth, built by Veritas founder Lauren Artress and Jean Richardson, is lined with small pieces of slat slabs. Instead of the typical 6-rosette ring in the center, there are large boulders for sitting and contemplation.
Ghost Ranch is 4 miles beyond Abiquiu and about 50 miles from Santa Fe. See their website for directions. Drive to the Welcome Center to get directions to the labyrinth and sign in.It is situated just off the trail to Kitchen Mesa and Box Canyon. No reservation is necessary. Ghost Ranch is a Presbyterian retreat center in a magnificent location of cliffs and colored rocks. It is open year-round, seven days a week. The Welcome Center is open 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.
